First founded in 1911 as a nine hole golf course it has more recently been redeveloped to offer 18 holes of challenging yet rewarding play spread across the Bolton / Bury border. Whether you’re a competitive pro or a social stroller our course is set up to provide you with a real test of golf and has something for everyone.

In many people’s opinion, Breightmet Golf Club is one of the finest golf courses in the North West.

At over 6,400 yards (off whites), over 6,000 yards (off yellows) and over 5,300 yards (off reds), Breightmet Golf Club is an excellent test of golf with a great deal of ‘risk & reward’. The course is very well balanced and includes four par 3’s and four par 5’s. No two holes are similar.

In an effort to make your day as enjoyable as possiblethere are 150 yard (yellow) and 200 yard (white) markers on all par 4 & 5’s with the flags on the greens also colour coded – red (front), yellow (middle) and blue (back).

The clubhouse looks directly out onto both the 9th and the18th greens (with the par 5 – 18th hole being one of the best finishing holes you will ever play). Tables and chairs are provided outside the clubhouse on the patio area to relax and have some refreshments, whilst watching all your friends finish both the 9th and the 18th holes.

Although the etiquette & usual golf club standards are maintained, we pride ourselves on the extremely friendly & relaxed atmosphere within the club.

A day out at Breightmet Golf Club is one that you will thoroughly enjoy with spectacular views over the local area especially whilst playing the back 9.
